the trouble i’ve known

the trouble i’ve known

I know this guy
He’s the trouble I’ve known
His playful violence
It’s the trouble I’ve known
Take you out back
and show you what he means
That’s the trouble I’ve known

I know this guy
Sweet and gentle, never mean
I know this guy
Throw you off a cliff
Take your girl to his nook
Can’t be helped
Not quite human
the trouble I’ve known

I know this creep
He’s the monster I’ve seen
His careful touch
buckles and breaks
His innocent kiss
burrows and takes
His prayers reflect
the yellow moon
Not what he seems
Best beware
the trouble I’ve seen

I know this guy
He’s the trouble I’ve known
I know this man
He’s the answer I’ve fled
I know this soul
He floats on the wind
I know this foment
this tumble and strife
his smile takes your life

I know this guy
He’s the trouble I’ve known
